Email automation runs while you sleep, recovering revenue you’d otherwise lose entirely. Three flows to set up before you spend on any paid traffic:

  1. Abandoned Cart — triggered when someone adds to cart but doesn’t check out. A well-tuned 3-email sequence (immediate reminder, a follow-up with urgency, a final one with a small incentive) commonly recovers a meaningful share of otherwise-lost sales.
  2. Welcome Series — triggered when someone joins your email list (often via a discount popup). Introduces your brand and nudges toward a first purchase.
  3. Post-Purchase — order confirmation, shipping updates, and a follow-up asking for a review once the product should have arrived (tie the timing to your actual shipping data from Module 4, not a generic default).

Tools

Klaviyo is the most common choice for Shopify stores, with a free tier for small lists. Mailchimp or WooCommerce-native plugins (e.g. Mailpoet) work well for WooCommerce. All three support the visual, trigger-based flow-building described above without needing to write code.
