Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is free and matters even for an online-only store, not just a physical shop — it builds trust signals and can appear directly in relevant local/branded searches.

  1. Create your profile at business.google.com with your business name, category (e.g. “Online Shopping” or your specific niche), and contact details.
  2. If you have any physical presence (a home office you’re comfortable listing, a pickup point, or a local market stall from Module 4’s offline model), verify the location — this unlocks appearing in Google Maps results.
  3. Add real photos of your products and, if applicable, your fulfillment process — profiles with photos get meaningfully more engagement than text-only listings.
  4. Respond to every review, positive or negative — profiles with visible owner responses are trusted more by prospective customers reading them before buying.
