Paid ads stop the moment you stop paying. SEO is the slower, compounding alternative — worth building from your very first product page, not retrofitted later.

Practical checklist per product page

  1. Title: include the actual product name/keyword a buyer would search, not just a brand-style name (“Wireless Earbuds with Charging Case” beats “AirSonic Pro X1” for search visibility, even if you keep the brand name too).
  2. URL slug: short and keyword-matching (/products/wireless-earbuds-charging-case, not /products/product-2847).
  3. Image alt text: describe the image accurately with your keyword naturally included — this also feeds Google Image search traffic, an often-ignored channel.
  4. Unique product descriptions: never paste the supplier’s stock description verbatim — duplicate content across thousands of other stores using the same supplier actively hurts your ranking.
  5. Genuine customer reviews: fresh, unique review text on a page is itself a ranking signal search engines value.
