1. Who We Are

DeOdevs (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a software and web/app development agency operating from two locations: Lagos, Nigeria and Sheffield, United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through deodevs.com and our related services, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect different data depending on how you interact with us:

Contact form: name, email address, and the content of your message.
Job applications: full name, email address, and your uploaded resume/CV file (PDF or Word document).
Ebook downloads: your email address, provided in exchange for a download link.
Workshop registrations: full name and email address, used to generate and send your ticket.
Store purchases: billing details and order information, collected and processed through our store checkout (WooCommerce) and its connected payment processor(s).
Staff verification: for our own employees only, we display name, job title, work email, and photo through a public lookup tool so third parties can confirm someone’s identity as a genuine DeOdevs staff member. This is not data about site visitors; it concerns our employees, who are informed separately of this use.

We do not knowingly collect special category data (health, biometric, etc.) through any of the above forms.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to: respond to enquiries; assess job applications; deliver digital products you’ve requested; process and fulfil store orders; send workshop tickets and event-related communication; and maintain the integrity of our staff verification system.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on: consent (contact form, ebook opt-ins, workshop registration — you can withdraw this at any time by emailing us); legitimate interest (assessing job applications, maintaining staff verification records); and performance of a contract (processing store orders). Where the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 applies, we process data on the equivalent bases of consent, contractual necessity, and legitimate interest, and will honour Nigerian data subject rights on the same terms described below.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

6. Where Your Data Is Stored and Who Can Access It

Resume files are stored in a non-public directory on our server, outside any web-accessible path, and are never linked to directly — staff access them only through an authenticated admin action. Files distributed as protected downloads (ebooks) are served through expiring, signed links rather than public URLs.

We share data with the following categories of third party, each acting on our instructions: our hosting provider; our transactional email delivery provider (for sending replies, tickets, and download links); our payment processor(s) if you make a purchase (e.g. Stripe or PayPal, depending on which is enabled at checkout); and, if you apply through a syndicated job listing, the third-party job board that listing originated from.

7. International Data Transfers

Because we operate from both Lagos, Nigeria and Sheffield, United Kingdom, personal data may be processed in either jurisdiction, and potentially in the jurisdiction of our hosting or email provider. 9. Cookies

Our site uses only the technical cookies necessary for core functionality (for example, shopping cart contents during checkout). We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Uploaded files are validated against strict file-type checks before storage, stored outside publicly accessible directories, and served only through expiring, cryptographically signed links or authenticated admin actions. 11. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “last generated” date above.
